“ Place is always empty when I come here. I hate people so the Hibachi thing is always a struggle for me. Especially when they sit some stranger next to me when there are other chairs available and now we are both uncomfortable. The Japanese Onion Soup is bland as HELL. But then that Capt'n Save A Hoe garlic chicken fried rice saves all. It's so delicious. The scallops were slightly burned but it's scallops so that's forgivable. The chefs work hard, I appreciate what they do. That rice tho. If you don't eat anything else, get the rice. And hope you don't sit next to any rude guests who play music loudly from their phone with no regard to those nearby. I, at least, have my headset in my ears. Because ya know, my mom raised me properly. Thanks Mom! ”

“ The lunch special is one that is very hard to beat! Food: Hibachi style cooking right at your table. Lunch options are all served with a ginger salad, hibachi fried rice, bean sprouts, onions, zucchini, mushrooms(blah), and a drink... I hold the mushrooms and steal the extra sprouts. I've had the teriyaki chicken(9.95), luncheon steak(11.95), and the steak and shrimp(13.95) . These are all great deals for the portion and food quality. My favorite is by far the steak. They always cook the pieces right to order and you get so much with the luncheon steak. Service: Being hibachi style, there is always a show when dining here. Drinks stay full and the fried rice stays flyin! Some chefs are better and more entertaining than others, but you get what you get! They also close around 2:30 and open later for dinner. ”

“ I have always wanted to try this place. It has been a local spot on 1960 where friends and neighbors are aware of this place and loved it, so one day it was my turn to finally try this place. I walked in with 5 other co-workers and we sat in our own hibachi table. Many either ordered the mini steak and shrimp special with others ordered the chicken teriyaki like I did and a bowl of onion soup on the side. Not only did the chef made an amazing performance but with that said, the food was just as amazing! My antire meal was cooked well and to delicious perfection! I only wished that the hostest would be a bit more sympathetic rather than always rushing people into sitting down or paying their bills but that will not stop me from coming here again. ”

“ This place is really a hit or miss, but I give it 4 stars for lunch hour prices and my last few experiences here. For lunch specials, you can usually get a full meal that consist of fried rice, veggies, steak, shrimp, and ice tea for a little over ten bucks. You can also get chicken instead of steak. Of course, the food comes with a show too! Choo choo! (volcano onion train). The reason why I say it is a hit or miss is because the chefs/performers are either really enthusiastic or they look like they are about to jump off a bridge. Give them credit though since chefs not only have to cook the food but deal with customers as well. The performance is generally the same but can vary depending on the chef. They clean the grill and light it on fire, play with their knives, chop things up really fast, and make an onion volcano. What's cool is that each chef may add a bit extra in there like blow a train whistle while moving the train or making a pile of fried rice look like a beating heart! Kids usually like this stuff but it never seizes to entertain me. ”

“ Really enjoyed eating here. The experience and food were great. The chef prepared the food on the grill in front of us. If you have never experienced that, I highly recommend it. It is an entertaining show. The food was delicious. I had the shrimp and sirloin lunch special. It was reasonably priced. Staff was very friendly. I hope to go back many more times ”

“ This place tops my list of Hibachi restaurants... it was some good! We started the meal off with the usual onion soup and salad. Both FULL of flavor and much better than the sometimes bland offerings of the typical hibachi restaurant. I had an Alice roll for an appetizer, and it was awesome! It had tempura shrimp, cream cheese and fresh japs inside and was covered with shredded crabmeat, spicy mayo and some other type of delicious and flavorful sauce... I really enjoyed it. The hibachi was very good as well... I had the filet mignon and it was served with shrimp, veggies, and chicken fried rice. The presentation was great and the flavor was awesome. BOTTOM LINE: One of the better hibachi grills in Houston. ”

“ My best friend's cousin Jessica works here (she's the pretty maitre d' who seats you with a lovely shy smile) and she asked us to come by and enjoy some good teppanyaki while I'm here in Texas so I figured, why not. I love teppanyaki and I figured Texans would know how to serve my steak better than regular cities right? I thought the wait (for the table to fill up) would take long, like Benihana's, but people came and filled up the spots pretty quickly. Our ONION SOUP comes first, and we enjoy the not-too-salty not-too-bland soup and eagerly wait for the teppanyaki performance. Given my history of always getting a Hispanic chef (no racism implied!), I joke to my best friend that maybe i'll get lucky in Texas and get an Asian chef. Guess what? I DO! First off, this chef performed far more tricks and the one at Benihana's, even though he wasn't as nicely dressed. 2nd, the portions are larger and prices are cheaper as well. In addition, our chef was also more interactive with us as well. Only thing that was lacking in comparison was probably the GARLIC CHICKEN FRIED RICE. Tastewise, I like Benihana's fried rice more, but price way, it's almost half the price for a larger serving. So it makes up for what it lacked in taste. So we ordered the HB SPECIAL (Shrimp, Scallops, and Tenderloin -- except that our server substituted the scallops for calamari). The food itself was split between me and my best friend, and we both ate to our fullest and still had enough to fill an entire to-go box to take home. That's how big the portions are. See my pictures if you don't believe me. The calamari was slightly salty, but the rice blended it out. Steak was perfect (I asked for Medium well) and they add bean sprouts and veggies along with the meat they serve. The shrimp, well, you can't really go wrong with shrimp. Performance was very intricate. Our chef really had a fun time showing off and I really enjoyed watching them. He starts off drawing a happy face with oil and then lights it on fire. The entire grill area lights up and your face gets a warm wake up call. Sweet. At one point he took a fake ketchup bottle and "squeezed" it at me (I thought I was gonna have ketchup all over me, lol I actually flinched back and closed my eyes! haha) but all that came out was air and a red string of yarn. Clever! In addition, their onion volcano not only smoked but he lit it on FIRE. OOoo. =D Then as he was serving the fried rice he actually put the put on the spatula, and tossed it to his other hand and then handed it to my best friend. It was awesome. I had such a great time watching him performance and laughing at the fobby jokes he made. :) Just a note, the restaurant also comes with a bar section and Sushi bar area, not just a Hibachi grill section. Nice variety. All in all, I paid $23 (without tip) for 2 people's worth AND enough to fill an entire to-go box worth of leftover food. Talk about fun entertainment and lots of good food. ”
